Intense Shoes

Some children crave intensity. Or is it additional height?

Random Things

Athena has wasted no time welcoming me back with a meme.

I am to tell three random things about me.

1. I tend to think too much. (Is there such a thing?) For instance, when I decided to play this game, my first thought was to look up the definition of "random" to make sure I did it right. :o) (random: having no specific pattern, purpose or objective.)

2. My favorite part of "Trick my Truck" is the beginning, when the deserving trucker comes to the realization that they are going to fix up his truck. (Mr. Honey's favorite part is the end when the guy gets to see how it looks.)

3. I feel most comfy when I have on Keds and a cardigan. It must be all that Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood I watched as a kid. I always liked how he drew the line between his public life and his home life by changing his shoes. Sometimes I wear my fuzzy slippers instead of sneakers. My feet like to be covered.

Now I have to tag people. I tag Barb, Javamom, Lindafay, Raora and Senora Smith.

And I tag you. Let me know if you play!

Enjoying Technology

Yes, I'm back. It was the coreopsis that did it. I cannot resist decorating the blog with the beauty God sends my way.

My birthday was on the eleventh of this month, and I received a coreopsis, a new kitchen faucet and.... a laptop computer!!!

Such fun!

We also got a new camera recently-- Mr. Honey won it at a convention. It is much nicer than our old one.

I do not know a whole lot about electronics or computers, so Mr. Honey and Triss are helping me along. They have hidden whole passels of information on my new laptop, which has significantly more memory than my old dinosaur. It is going to take me awhile to find everything.

Anyway, I know I kinda snuck back, but it seemed more important to show pictures first and visit later. I don't know how much posting I will do-- the kids and I have had some great conversations lately, and I think I had been neglecting that a little because of the blog-- but I do expect that with summer at hand, and a laptop to make it convenient, I will be able to post to the blog without sacrificing family time.

Strawberry Picking

"As the strawberry ripens, the petals and stamens wither and fall away; the green calyx remains as the hull... holds in its cup the pyramid of pistils which swell and ripen up into the juicy fruit." (Comstock, p. 609)

"First the flower blooms, then it dies and the strawberry starts to grow." --Cornflower

Various Stages

We were blessed to go to a pick-your-own farm this afternoon.

Yummm..

There were loads of ripe strawberries.

The girls picked sixteen pounds' worth in less than half an hour! I walked around taking pictures until I realized I'd better call a halt to the picking in defense of my pocketbook.

Another Tasty Morsel

Love the Hat

Ever the romantic, Mariel wore her Easter bonnet-- but the wind would not cooperate for more than a few minutes.

Spring Gift

Update 4/24/08: Look how many flowers have opened up now! (In order to understand my excitement, you must know that I am a poor gardener at best. Those of you who remember Cornflower's sweet potato plant that yielded forth an unexpected harvest a year or two ago will appreciate that this flower plant sprang up in the exact same spot. How about that?)

Count the Blooms!

A Healthy Coreopsis

The Lord gave us a healthy, tall coreopsis for a present! It just came up in our front yard.
